গরমের মধ্যে শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান বন্ধ করা নিয়ে হাইকোর্টের এমন আদেশের বিষয়ে শিক্ষামন্ত্রী মহিবুল হাসান চৌধুরী নওফেল বলেন, সারা দেশের শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান বন্ধে এক ধরনের মানসিকতা তৈরি হচ্ছে। সবকিছুতেই কেন শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের ওপর আদালতের নিদের্শনা নিয়ে আসতে হবে?

সাংবিধানিকভাবে যার যা দায়িত্ব তা পালন করা বাঞ্ছনীয় বলে মন্তব্য করেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী। হাইকোর্টের আদেশের বিরুদ্ধে আপিল বিভাগে যাবেন বলেও জানান তিনি।

A high-level delegation from India is set to visit Bangladesh to discuss the renewal of a bilateral agreement that will provide training and development opportunities for Bangladesh civil servants.

The delegation, led by Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), V Srinivas, will be in Bangladesh for three days from April 28-30, 2024.

The visit is aimed at renewing the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) of India and the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration, which has been in place since 2014.

Apple is preparing for its big AI coming out party in this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference; that much you can count on. But apparently, the company is going to start that party a little early with the OLED iPad Pro that it’s expected to unveil on May 7th. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, there’s “a strong possibility” the tablet will launch with an M4 chip and its accompanying neural engine, making it Apple’s “first truly AI-powered device.”

Writing in his Power On newsletter today, Gurman said the company could use its May event to explain “its AI chip strategy without distraction,” freeing it to focus on exactly how the iPad Pro and its other M4 devices will use the company’s AI offerings in iPadOS 18. Those could include on-device Apple-developed features and deeply-integrated chatbots from one or more other companies like Google or OpenAI.

Rather than being actual spiders, these small, dark features form when spring sunshine falls on layers of carbon dioxide deposited over the dark winter months. The sunlight causes carbon dioxide ice at the bottom of the layer to turn into gas, which subsequently builds up and breaks through slabs of overlying ice. The gas bursts free in Martian springtime, dragging dark material up to the surface as it goes and shattering layers of ice up to a meter thick.

পদ্মা সেতু সাইট অফিসের অতিরিক্ত পরিচালক মো. আমিরুল হায়দার চৌধুরী জানান, দেশের বৃহত্তম সেতুটি চালু হওয়ার পর থেকে গতকাল শনিবার পর্যন্ত ১ হাজার ৫০২ কোটি ৬২ লাখ ১৫ হাজার ৯০০ টাকার টোল আদায় হয়েছে।

এ পর্যন্ত সেতুর উভয় প্রান্ত দিয়ে যানবাহন পারাপার হয়েছে ১ কোটি ১২ লাখ ৯১ হাজার ৯৫টি।

এর মধ্যে মাওয়া প্রান্ত দিয়ে পারাপার হয়েছে ৫৬ লাখ ১ হাজার ২৩২ এবং জাজিরা প্রান্ত দিয়ে পারাপার হয়েছে ৫৬ লাখ ৮৯ হাজার ৮৬৩টি যানবাহন।

আজ রোববার শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ কথা বলা হয়েছে। এতে বলা হয়েছে, স্বাস্থ্য মন্ত্রণালয় ও আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তরের সঙ্গে পরামর্শ করে এ সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। তবে এসব এলাকার যেসব শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে শীততাপ নিয়ন্ত্রণ ব্যবস্থা আছে, সেসব শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের কর্তৃপক্ষ চাইলে খোলা রাখতে পারবে।

Google on Tuesday released updates to fix four security issues in its Chrome browser, including an actively exploited zero-day flaw.

The issue, tracked as CVE-2024-0519, concerns an out-of-bounds memory access in the V8 JavaScript and WebAssembly engine, which can be weaponized by threat actors to trigger a crash.

"By reading out-of-bounds memory, an attacker might be able to get secret values, such as memory addresses, which can be bypass protection mechanisms such as ASLR in order to improve the reliability and likelihood of exploiting a separate weakness to achieve code execution instead of just denial of service," according to MITRE's Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE).

Two vulnerabilities impacting the POST SMTP Mailer WordPress plugin, an email delivery tool used by 300,000 websites, could help attackers take complete control of a site authentication.

Last month, Wordfence security researchers Ulysses Saicha and Sean Murphy discovered two vulnerabilities in the plugin and reported them to the vendor.

The first, tracked as CVE-2023-6875, is a critical authorization bypass flaw arising from a “type juggling” issue on the connect-app REST endpoint. The issue impacts all versions of the plugin up to 2.8.7

An unauthenticated attacker could exploit it to reset the API key and view sensitive log information, including password reset emails.

Specifically, the attacker can exploit a function relating to the mobile app to set a valid token with a zero value for the authentication key via a request.

The flyby will bring Juno to around 930 miles (1,500 kilometers) of Io, the most volcanic body in the solar system. This will allow the spacecraft to take a detailed look at Io as it gathers a treasure trove of hot data.
